2021 Enrichment Classes

Dancers choose one of the following classes prior to registration. While every dancer attending the festival is guaranteed an enrichment class, classes are filled on a 1st come 1st served basis. Late registration may result in dancers not being placed in the enrichment class of their choosing. When a class is filled it will be removed from the list and a notice will be put on our Facebook page.

  • 9 year olds Enrichment with Mrs. Payne. All 9 year old dancers attending the festival will be placed in this enrichment class by default.
  • Dunham Technique with Laurie Goux. This modern technique class will focus on the techniques of Katherine Dunham.
  • Musical Theater Dance HAS REACHED MAXIMUM ENROLLMENT AND IS NOW CLOSED TO NEW REGISTRATIONS
  • Swing Dance with Lauren Cundiff works with basic steps, partnering, and a few moves you can enjoy with your friends! Take part in a social dance from the 1920s and have a blast in the 2020s. 
  • Popping and Breaking with Erick Paul teaches the basic foundations of hip-hop dance with a quick history lesson and movements in Breakin’ & Poppin’ styles. Dancers will learn basic top rock, floor work, waving, hitting, & muscle control.”
  • Israeli Folk Dance with Yoav Kaddar is an energetic, community building dance style for all regardless of prior experience. Join the circle and learn basic Israeli folk dances influenced by cultures and traditions from around the world.
  • Latin Jazz HAS REACHED MAXIMUM ENROLLMENT AND IS NOW CLOSED TO NEW REGISTRATIONS  
  • Dance Movement Games with Becca Klaft will be exploring movement qualities in a game of “Baseball,” stimulating the brain with fast thinking, and getting to know one another.
  • Advanced Pointe with Simon Ball is designed for dancers with no less than 2 years of pointe experience.
  • Lyrical Dance HAS REACHED MAXIMUM ENROLLMENT AND IS NOW CLOSED TO NEW REGISTRATIONS
  • Visual Arts in Motion with Attack Theater will utilize Visual Thinking Strategies to invite students to describe, analyze, and interpret art works, generating movement by reacting to form, color, composition; connecting common elements of both dance and visual art.
  • Improvisation with Ryan Corriston will focus on spontaneous movement through facilitated experiences. The goal is to broaden self-awareness and gain a deeper understanding of the innate ability in every dancer
  • Theater Tap with Kelly Ozust will focus on tap styles most associated with musical theater and Broadway. Focusing on rhythm and clarity, learn repertory from a well-known musical!
  • Health and Injury Prevention for Dancers with Jen Lawrence utilizes elements of Progressing Ballet Technique, an innovative program combining fitness ball work with ballet fundamentals to help strengthen the body to aid in prevention and recovery from common dance injuries.
