At this time, we are unable to be sure if we will be able to hold auditions for scholarships but we are actively working on it! In the meantime, below is the list of scholarships from 2019. We thank all of these institutions for working with us to provide wonderful opportunities to West Virginia’s young dancers!

College Fair

We are excited to announce that we will have multiple college representatives onsite this year to speak with students and parents. Stop by the college fair in the LEFT room of the EEC on Saturday from 9:30-5pm to check it out! Some participating colleges are:

West Virginia University

  • Develop and hone your techniques in a program that offers both experiential and theoretical dance education. You’ll study a variety of dance genres and subjects — ballet, modern, jazz, tap, world dance, choreography, dance history and dance criticism.

Brenau University

  • The Department of Dance at Brenau University educates the individual as a dance practitioner, scholar, and artist in a creative, supportive, and challenging environment. The department provides a solid foundation in classical ballet, modern, and jazz dance. Students are encouraged to explore their values while creating a personal philosophy as an artist with responsibility and integrity.

Winthrop University

  • The Department of Theatre and Dance fosters individual students’ aesthetic, intellectual, and creative development within the context of a liberal arts education as they pursue a Bachelor of Arts in theatre or dance.  Through class instruction, private coaching, mentoring, and performance, the department advocates both theoretical and creative exploration to achieve an understanding of the social, political, historical, and technological aspects of theatre or dance.  Class size remains small for majors: sometimes as small as five and never more than 25. The department offers a minor in theatre or dance and welcomes all students to enroll in courses and audition for productions

Scholarship Information for 2019

Before selecting an audition for scholarships ensure the dancer is age appropriate for the scholarship. This includes meeting the minimum age for dorm stay if applicable. Cash scholarships must be used for a program focused on dance education and cannot be used at a student’s home studio.

Dancers 16+ may choose 2, as long as they are not during the same time slot. Dancers aged 9-15 may only choose 1.
