Liability Forms:
2024 Adult Liability Release
2024 Child Liability Release
Registration: Dancers at least 9 years of age by the festival date are welcome to register with a member of Dance WV. Adult and student release forms can be accessed above.
Check-in: Individual dancers do not need to check in. Your studio director will communicate your meeting spot. They’ll be provided cabin details about 1 week prior to our festival.
Schedule: A SAMPLE schedule of classes and events is available on our website. Classes begin on Friday at 3pm and the festival will conclude by 3pm on Sunday. Your director will receive color grouping assignments and a finalized schedule about 1 week prior to the festival.
Auditions: Dance WV members who have been an active member of the organization in good standing for at least 1 year are eligible to register dancers for scholarship auditions. Your studio director will communicate any details pertinent to your studio’s opportunities.
Students under the age of 10 or who are unable to attend a summer intensive should choose the “Mock Audition”. The mock audition will give students the opportunity to gain insight from an audition experience without the pressure of an actual audition. High school seniors who are interested in studying dance as a major or a minor at the collegiate level should attend the university scholarships audition and need to complete the university audition packet available on our website.
Enrichment Classes: Dance WV members are limited to a maximum of 5 dancers in each enrichment class with the total number of reserved spaces not exceeding the total number of registered dancers. Classes fill on a 1st come 1st served basis and space is limited. Filled classes will be closed to new registrations and announced on social media as quickly as possible.
Photography Sessions: Mike Winland Studios will be offering portrait sessions on Friday for dancers who may need photos for upcoming auditions. Session time slots are limited. Please see the link on our website to register.
College Fair: The college fair will be on Saturday with tons of info about some great schools. Dancers and parents are able to stop by anytime to check it out, chat with the schools, and pick up some flyers on dance programs.
Pop-Up Shop: Backstage Bodywear will be on site on Saturday with dance apparel and dancer merchandise. Be sure to stop by to see the latest gifts for dancers.
Parent Information Meeting: Join us on Sunday at 1:15 for a quick parent info session! This is great, especially for those parents who have just arrived on campus to pick up dancers.
Sunday Worship: Join us at the chapel on Sunday morning at 10 or 11:15am for our worship service!
Arts & Crafts: Any dancer who likes arts and crafts is welcome to join us if they’re not in class!
Dance in Higher Ed Discussion: Parents and dancers of all ages are welcome to attend this great informational session where you can learn more about what dance in college may be like. Questions are welcome!
Dress Code: Solid colored leotards and tights and/or close fitting t-shirts and solid colored leggings as appropriate to the style of dance should be worn for class. Dancers exposing bare midriffs, clothing with offensive language or images, or items deemed unsanitary or unsafe for the environment will be asked to change. Dancers should wear appropriate shoes for the classes they are taking. Make sure to bring hip hop shoes or clean tennis shoes/sneakers to wear during your hip hop class.
Parents and Chaperones: Chaperones do not need to sign up to attend the chaperone’s or open classes. Just show up and have some fun with others who are there to share some laughs and dance moves!
Class Observation: School directors and teachers are welcome to observe all classes with the exception of audition classes as long as they are not disruptive. We request that chaperones not enter the dance spaces during classes. All auditions are closed to observers. Please limit photography and video to before or after class and only with permission.
Accommodations and Dining: Housing is dormitory style housing. Pillows are available though no pillowcases, towels, or bedding are provided. Rooms must be left as they were found. Groups WILL BE charged for missing or damaged items. Meals are served in the dining hall cafeteria style. Persons with food allergies and/or serious dietary restrictions should note it with registration.
Cell Phones and Wifi:Wifi is not available at the festival. If you have difficulty reaching your students, group, or members of Dance WV during the festival and you have an EMERGENCY need, you may contact the Cedar Lakes office at 304-372-7860.
T-shirts: Merchandise including t-shirts and other items are available for advanced purchase through our online store available from September 3-23. (Please check with your director to determine whether shirts are being ordered as a group prior to placing your order.) Items may be purchased to be picked up at the festival in the Dance WV office or for delivery with an additional shipping fee. Additional items are available in limited supply at the festival.
Health and First Aid: Basic first aid kits are available in every studio space and there is a nurse present during the festival.
